Formula One is located on the hillside of a community called Elroy which is located on FM 812, 5 miles east of Hwy. 183. Everyone says Austin, but this area is not in the city, nor is Elroy a city or town. The postal address is Del Valle. Basically it located in Travis County. Formula One has broken ground and is well on its way to having their first race by summer of 2012. Whether you agree or disagree it looks like this track will be built.

The latest I have heard is that there is talk of having the ROT (Republic of Texas) rally moved to this site rather than the Expo Center, approximately 60,000 motorcycles for a 3 day week-end.

Travis County is considering a  tax increment financing district to pay for improvements to  Elroy Road which will have 3 entrances on it and other infrastruture. Elroy Road is a two lane road, no shoulder, from McAngus Rd. to the community of Elroy on FM 812. A portion of Elroy Road has been improved from FM 973 to McAngus Rd. done about the same time as SH 130.

News of Formula 1 has formed a new partnership with MotoGP to host motorcycle race.

The Formula One Race site has a name: Circuit of the Americas or CotA.
